7 Tips On How To Get Over A Break Up Fast

Is there a way to get over a break up fast? Well, yes and no and if you go down the path of self pity then the road back is going to be a long one.

It's amazing what a difference mindset can make and while you may not want to hear it, a positive outlook can and will expedite the length of the hurting period. Many make the mistake of thinking the world is against them and react accordingly. Sometimes this reaction can be outward and if this is the case then you'll most likely lose valuable friends.

If it's an inward reaction then it will follow the line of withdrawal and making yourself scarce within your circle of friends. Sure it doesn't hurt to take some time on your own but this is a time when the people closest to you can really help you through this difficult period.

How To Get Over Your Break Up Fast

Let's take a look at seven ways to help you survive the initail stages of an emotional split. Each one of these can help in some way but implementing most of these strategies can really help you get back on the road to happiness.

1. As we mentioned above, going into disappearnace mode may help for awhile and let you get out pent up emotion in private but as a long term strategy it is not healthy. At least have one or two people closest to you maintain contact and gradually work your way back into a reasonably social routine.

2. Take a moment and write down exactly how you feel. Don't hold anything back. By writing out your emotions on paper you are releasing a lot of tension and it's amazing how beneficial it is to be able to see your feelings in black and white.

3. Write down all your good points. Be honest and write everything about you you consider is positive.

4. Write out all the negative things about your ex. Again, be truthful and don't attempt to make excuses for the things you consider to be negative aspects of their personality and demeanor.

5. Maintain a positive demeanor around your friends and the friends of your ex when you bump into them. People will expect you to be negative at this time but it will be a victory for you if you give them the opposite and this can only build your self esteem and self confidence.

6. If you do want to get emotional take time out on your own and let your emotions out in a place where no one can see you. Cry if you have to and be vocal if you need to be.

7. Avoid hanging onto mementos of your ex. Get rid of photos, notes, jewelry and yes, even parts of your wardrobe if it contains clothing either bought by your ex or you bought it shopping together. This will help you in being able to get over a break up quickly. It just makes sense.
