Alternative Energy Bill Passes House, Tell Your Senators To Make It Law

In the rare occasion that our elected representatives does the right thing then it needs to be seized upon as an opportunity to get more of the same. When Americans got awakened and crashed their phone lines roughly a year or so ago and they felt our pressure and vetoed immigration amnesty they took correct action. So did we! See? It is possible to dance with the devil and not lose your soul. And it is possible to have a relationship with Congress where we say…”don’t you dare” and they comply.
When cowardly deeds are being done on a large scale in our country, usually by our government, the biggest negative impact is usually the loss of opportunity. I believe, personally, that the worst aspect of 911… and that is certainly a hard one to choose… the initial 3000 that died, the subsequent 50,000 or so first responders who are not getting care (unless if they are lucky enough to be treated at New York Detox ), the resultant illegal aggressions and emasculating of Constitutional rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus, etc… are all horrors of epic proportions. But in my opinion, the worst of all was the absolute invalidation of the outpouring of care, togetherness and humanity which occurred after 911 from all parts of the globe. I was a volunteer at Ground Zero and I can give you a first hand account that the stuff that we were sent from all over the country and around the world packed a large church to the brim! But rather than use that as a foundation for love and tolerance in the new millennium, W slam dunked the Patriot Act, the faux “war on terror” and twoillegal, unconstitutional wars.
The same theme characterizes the tragedy that is the oil industry. The “villains that own the monopoly and have us fixed and focused on oil do much damage in terms of our environment and so forth. But the greatest crime is that if they did not have all of us under their energy yolk then we could have an incredible alternative energy financial era of prosperity and solve all money related concerns as a result of an unprecedented incredible infusion of creativity, entrepreneurialism, industry, pride and ingenuity which the once great American republic was built upon.
In recent days Congress approved the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act. This legislation is a tremendous first step in the direction which we need to go towards improving our air, creating clean energy jobs and attaining energy freedom.
This would involve cutting government subsidies to the oil and gas industry and redirecting them towards renewable energy development. The oil and gas industry will get by -- ExxonMobil recently published the largest quarterly profit for any company in American history and published $8 billion profits in 2007!
These fascistic monolithic monsters are not in need of any more Big Brother funding handouts. This new legislation would allow alternative sources, such as, solar and wind power to receive the funding they require.
Please help crash the Senate’s phone system and Tell your Senator that this bill needs to be passed.
