Amazing Hawaiian Islands - Kauai - Where Dreams Are Made

Kauai is also the oldest and northernmost of the Hawaiian Islands. The 550-square mile island is blanketed by lush tropical gardens and surrounded by sparkling blue waters.

The north shore of Kauai has some of the most spectacular landscapes on Earth. The Na Pali Coast features cliffs that rise 4,000 feet above the ocean. This area is also home to the gorgeous Lumahai Beach and the town of Hanalei.

The Na Pali Coast is a magical place to visit because of its caves, lava tubes, and sandy beaches. This is the perfect spot for nature lovers. You can tour the coast by foot on one of the many hiking trails, or you may sail along the island's shore.

The south shore of Kauai is perfect for those seeking historical treats or swimming and snorkeling. Besides a number of parks and beaches, you can visit the National Tropical Botanical Garden. And whatever you do, don't miss out on the natural lava tube formations in Spouting Horn.

The west side of this remarkable island features the breathtaking Waimea Canyon and Polihale State Park. If you are interested in Hawaiian culture, check out the sacred Polihale heiau. It is believed that this is one of the points from which the souls of the island's dead departed Kauai into the setting sun.
