Celebrity Wedding Venues For Fairytale Dreams

By: Dominic Donaldson

Traditionally, the wedding season is in the summer months when the bride can sport a stunning tan, and feast on salads in a bid to slim down to a size double zero as is poignantly fashionable right now. It is has also traditionally been a prime time due to favourable weather for photos.

Well, call me cynical, but today's climate changes, whether they are of man-made causes or natural fluctuations have put pay to using these reasons for a summer wedding; and quite frankly, you might as well pop a pin in a calendar and take whatever date comes up.

Also, slightly cynically, the very existence of sun beds and slim fast mean that you can conjure a sultry summer photo regardless of the weather, all you need is the right venue. Some people choose to fly abroad to get a bit of glamour into a wedding, but if you want real glamour why not choose a venue inspired by the stars themselves. Ditch those wedding magazines and grab a copy each of Hello, Heat and OK for some top celebrity tips for wedding venues.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie at Skibo Castle
To scoop a date for a wedding here, you'll have to become a member of the Carnegie club, at a whopping cost of four thousand great British pounds. However, if you are deciding to emulate the celebrity wedding of a world famous Diva, then you are not likely to be watching the pennies at any point!

To spend a night here costs around six hundred pounds, so once you've added all the trimmings for a fully fledged wedding we are talking the cost of a not so small country estate! The twelfth century castle will certainly make a prestigious backdrop for the celebration of a lifetime, and well worth every penny and pound.

David Beckham and Victoria Adams at Luttrellstown Castle
Yes, it seems the celebs like a historic theme for a wedding, but this venue had a particular notoriety for the presence of thrones for the happy couple during the ceremony. Once again, this is a hotel and country club, boasting a sterling five star rating for its facilities.

Set in six hundred acres of gorgeous countryside, this fifteenth century castle is the pride and joy of the Emerald Isle and has been home to many of Ireland's most recognised residents. The Beckinghams as they had been dubbed shortly after the throne saga added a touch of magic to this event with fireworks and a fifty quid a head sit down banquet.

Katie Price and Peter Andre at Highclere Castle
T o seal the deal, our third and final celebrity couple chose a castle too, this time is the stunning setting of Berkshire. The fairytale wedding was reminiscent of a Barbie and Ken theme set, but the eight hundred thousand pound wedding has been voted the most iconic of the century.

To pull off a wedding with such pizzazz, you'll have to match the pink theme and put cherries on top, and outdo the Cinderella coach while you are at it. To have a non-celebrity wedding at the prestigious venue will cost you a fraction at only ten thousand pounds, leaving you to spend the rest on trimmings such as magical leprechauns, unicorns and a dress made by the elves of Rivendell that would give Arwen Evenstar a run for her money!
