Dallas Auto Insurance - Using Super Dallas Automotive Insurance Discounts To Conserve Dough

By: J. David Triplett

Ted Edwards is a student at the University of Texas majoring in International Business. A freshman student at UT, and he is in the market to upgrade his mode of transport from a street bike to a new Ford Escape. Ted lives near the Northpark Dallas neighborhood and he just met a local girl, Claire, that he wants to ask out on a date. He's going to need a car for that.

Ted has enough money to buy the Ford Escape that he wants, but he is only 22 years of age, which will mean that most extraordinary insurers will quote him a coverage policy rate that will cost him more bucks than the average driver. He recalls a Financial Responsibility class that the University offered earlier in the year where Professor Kenneth Gorman mentioned some auto insurance discounts that would allow Dallas student driver drivers to save tons of money on local auto insurance coverage.

Ted Begins His Search For Genuine Information on Auto Insurance Discounts

Continuing with our story, Ted decides that it is up to him to find Dallas vehicle insurance discounts, and plausible information to advise him on the process. So he instantaneously grabs his Apple PowerMac and sits down on his bed. His mind immediately goes blank.

Asking out loud he says "Where do I go to get exceptional information?". His mental gears go into action, and he suddenly has an idea. In his Firefox browser window, he types in and navigates to the site. First he searches for "cheap auto insurance in dallas texas tx"; but that query proves ineffective. Next he tries searching for "auto insurance Dallas Texas TX discounts" in the search bar.

Interestingly enough, the top listing that returns is from www.carinsurance.com. He instantaneously clicks on the link, and a page appears with a apple green-colored car logo in the top-right corner, and a huge ivory box with the text: Looking For an Auto Quote? Enter Your Zip Code Now! "Oh Great" he immediately thinks. "This website is just attempting the conventional sales process, and I won't get any honest info here."

Ted Finds The Dallas Chamber of Commerce Website

A bit unhappy, he sits back and tries to recall what was covered in the Financial Responsibility class he attended. He remembers some spelled-out info sources that Professor Gorman mentioned, and one of them happened to be the Chamber of Commerce site for Texas. The information on this site is plausible because of the fact that the Chamber of Commerce workers are nondiscriminatory in their findings and articles.

With his new-found epiphany he quickly hits the 'BACK' button in the browser and is directed back to the search page. He enters in "Dallas Chamber of Commerce", and then clicks on the top link that returns. He is taken to www.dallaschamber.org, and is relieved to find zero extraordinary advertisements, which of course makes him feel that the site is more plausible than a website which focuses on obtaining his money. After only 30 seconds of surfing through the site he finds a link with text " Texas Dept. of Insurance". Ted clicks on the link, and he is taken to the Texas Govt. site. He immediately thinks "Impressive!"; he is joyful because he feels like his search is finally getting somewhere. He quickly eyes an Internal SITE SEARCH box, and enters in a search for "Dallas vehicle insurance discounts". On the page that comes up he clicks on some links that appear with a ivory-colored link on the SEARCH PAGE.

Here is what Ted finds:
1. Good Grade Discount for Student Drivers
2. Distant-student Discount
3. Good Grade Discount for Student Drivers
4. Defensive Driver Course
5. Good Grade Discount for Student Drivers

Now How Does Ted Find Genuine Agents? - He Uses the Dallas Yellow Pages Auto Search Query

Ted thinks out loud: "Now I need to find Dallas auto insurers." One of the preferable things he learned from the Financial Responsibility class he took in the beginning of the year, was that the high-quality way to save bucks was to get multiple quotes from different agents - experts recommend at least 4 to 5 exceptional ones from Dallas vehicle insurers.

So Ted navigates the browser back to and attempts a search for "us auto insurance services dallas", but he is turned off because the results seem relatively questionable. Recalling an earlier success he had finding agents, he visited the Dallas Yellow Pages-Auto Insurance page he had saved in his Favorites folder, and a list of all local Dallas auto insurance agents popped up in the browser. He decided that it was preferable to talk to a real agent on the phone versus signing up online, so he could take advantage of all the Student Driver Discounts he had discovered for student drivers.

Interestingly enough, most insurers won't allow you to apply online for Student Driver Discounts, so the high-quality choice was to talk directly with an agent over the phone.

Ted Manages To Preserve Some Dough

Within a week, Ted gets quote application emails back from all the Prime agents he applied to. To test out the power of the student driver discounts, he asked each insurer to give him 2 quick quotes: for the first quote, he wanted the Student Driver discounts applied, and for the second one, he wanted a quote without the discounts applied. With one insurer the price difference was $284! With another insurer it was $380! "Totally Super!" he exclaimed out loud. "I am sure glad that I decided to execute observant, smart shopping tactics in my search for Dallas vehicle insurance.
