Government Grants

By: John Grants

This government grants article was created to make people aware of the most common misconceptions when searching for government grants, followed by some examples of how government grants programs actually work.

Government grants are awarded to third parties which are then used in one way or another to benefit you, the individual. Some grants, such as college grants, are awarded to the college for the purpose of paying the students college expenses. The student is not awarded college grants directly.

The same applies to other types of grants such as business grants. Lets say you own a business and need help finding customers. There are business grants out there that will fund your free business consultation services that can provide you with this free help.

As for housing grants and renters grants, there are some states that offer emergency assistance for homeowners and renters in need. The funding is not sent directly to the homeowner, but rather the lender or landlord.
