By: Brue Baker

With wakeboarding becoming so popular as a summer water sport, there are many people who are trying to learn how to build their own mobile obstacles for the water. We know that there are thousands of people out there who all want to know how to build a mobile wakeboard slider.

Well, I am happy we are finally able to bring you the information you need. These mobile sliders will make it much easier for you to test your skills, while being on safe equipment at the same time.

The Easy Steps To Make A Mobile Wakeboard Slider

The first thing you have to understand before you learn how to build a mobile wakeboard slider, is that using a slider that is too short, can cause you to get seriously injured. It is recommended that you don't try to build a slider that is shorter than six feet long.

The next thing you have to realize is that to be able to ensure your safety when using a wakeboard slider you have to make certain that you have plenty of foam stabilizers under the deck to keep it secure and stable.

Before you learn how to build a mobile wakeboard slider, you first have to gather your materials. For a basic slider, you will need three six foot lengths of particleboard, or some other building material. Cut one of the boards on the diagonal into two triangles. Turn these boards so that they are facing the same direction.

The next most important part of knowing how to build a mobile wakeboard slider, is to know how to choose a waterproof sealant. This is vital to being able to keep your slider in tiptop shape so that you can use it for many summers to come. Head down to your local hardware or boating store, and pick up a gallon of sealant. Coat all three boards with several coats, and allow them to dry thoroughly.

On one side of the second board, attach the foam stabilizers. This will not only help to keep the slider afloat, but will also help to keep it in place when you jump your board on it.

In between the foam stabilizers, attach two lengths of anchor rope. These can be attached with large, steel eyehooks, which can be purchased for pennies at your local hardware store. On a side note, if you have any questions about how to build a mobile wakeboard slider, your local water sports store will probably have a book with plans, complete with illustrations for you to use.

Attach the two triangle boards to the deck, about 16 inches apart, with heavy screws; and seal with watertight pipe sealer. Next, cut a ramp from the third board and attach it to the ramp with heavy screws. Seal all screws with pipe sealer, and finish with a final coat of waterproof sealant.

Now that you know how to build a mobile wakeboard slider, there's no reason why you can't get out there and start practicing some stunts of your own. As with any extreme sport, always remember to be careful. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to get someone from your local extreme sports store to come and inspect that it is built properly before you use it.
