How to make money on auction sites? I think a lot of people have asked themselves that question at some point. But I’m also sure that the majority of those people haven’t looked any further into it. Ebay still has tonnes of opportunity for the budding entrepreneur, its just that most people either think that the hype is over or they just haven’t been bothered to look into it.

I hope that if your reading this, that’s not you! You’re interested in how to make some extra cash on Ebay, right? Brilliant, but for the majority of people out there the biggest part is knowing how to begin. There’s so much information on the Internet and it’s very easy to get confused and lost. So where should you begin if your looking to make a living on with online auctions sites?

First of all, you need to research. The beginning part of any business, online or not is research, research, research. You need to find a niche, an area of interest or somewhere that you know you can profit. In my opinion the best way to do this is to start with the things that interest you - like your expertise or hobbies. If you’re doing something that you enjoy, your more likely to profit, right?

I would definitely spend time looking through the net, especially ebay and the other auction sites and get yourself familiar with the products and prices of a certain niche.

Once you’ve found that area, you need to find a decent product source. The best place, I think for beginners to start is with drop shipping. With drop shipping there’s no stock to be kept on your behalf and so you don’t have to worry about postage. Drop shipping companies keep the stock for you (which you list on ebay for a little bit more than your paying for them) and then when you sell something, they send the product to the customer for you.
