A lot of people think that it is hard to start your own business using the Internet, but the fact is that nothing is easier or faster. Understanding the basics is going to be your first step in starting your Internet home business. The first thing you will need is a website for your business; this is a big first step for most people. Despite what you may think setting up a website doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. You can get your website set up for free, and the best part, it's easy!

A wonderful tool is available at Blogger.com. A blog is another word for website. It is very easy to set up your own website and very quick. Go ahead; visit Blogger.com to set up your site now.

You are going to want to click the "Create Your Blog Now" button on the page. You will be taken to a page that asks you to enter a user name and password along with your display name and email address. Your user name and password can be anything you want. Just make sure you remember them! Once you have entered the information. Click the "Continue" button. Here is where you title your blog and give it an address. These can also be anything you have in mind. The next step is picking out what you want your website to look like, this is the template. Click "Continue" one more time and there is your brand new, personalized website.

Once this has been accomplished, you can push the "Start Positioning" button. This will open a new page in which you can add information to your website. There will be a "Title" field where you can title your page. Using the tools on the page, you can change how your type looks using different fonts. You can also add links to other pages, post pictures, and anything else you want to put on your page. After you happy with the way your site looks, there will be a "Publish Post" button, go ahead and push it. Congratulations! You have just made your own website. If you wish to add more pages to your site, repeat the process.

Now that you have a website, you want it to make money, right? Here is now you turn your new website into a money making business.

To do this, go to your account and click on the tab marked "Template". You will see another button marked "AdSense" at the top. This is a powerful but simple program where you earn money by allowing advertising on your website. The directions are easy to follow and it ads AdSense account instantly. Make sure you push the "Save" button; otherwise you will loose your work. One more button to click on. This one is marked "Republish" and you will see the Google AdSense button at the top of your page. Now, every time someone visits your webpage and clicks on one of the ads, you will receive money right in your account. Congratulations, now you have a moneymaking website.

Now all you have to do is sit back and let the money roll in, right? Well, not quite. You need to create traffic for your website. Tell everyone you know about your site, your friends, family, neighbors, people walking on the street, the guy next to you in traffic. Of course, eventually, you are going to get new people to visit. Here are a couple of tips.
There are several blog directories you should tell about your new website. Go to PingoMatic.com and enter your web name and address, this was determined by Blogger.com, there will be several boxes on the page, check all of them, then click the "Send Pings" button. This will let the directories know about your new site. In turn, you will get more traffic because people know about you. Think "telephone directory." Do this every time you update your site or add new pages to it.

Another option to get people to visit your site is to add your website address to other people's Blogs. If you go back to Blogger.com and click on the "Next Blog" button, it will take you to the page of another blogger. You can add comments in their site and then link back to your page. Do this as much as you can and it will link you into a whole online network. After you have entered comments, click the "Login and Publish" button. This will get your website out all over the Internet which will increase your overall visits because more people will be seeing it and checking it out. Also, don't forget, if they click on the advertisements thru AdSense, you get paid.

Even though Blogger.Com is one of the easiest ways to launch your home-based Internet business, don't forget about other important features of moneymaking businesses.

You will need to register your domain name if you want to make the 'big bucks'. Domain names are uniquely yours that you own and control. Very successful domain names include Yahoo.com, eBay.com and Google.com, names you know, names that people go to every day, sometimes several times a day.

When you go to register your name, make sure it is something having to do with your business. If you are selling children's clothing, it may not be a good idea to have your website named DonsDonuts.com. Having a domain name adds credibility to your business. You want people to know you are serious about what you do. Also, when choosing to do business with a web host, make sure they have been around for a while. You don't want to wake up one day and have your web address on business cards and letterhead and then find out the host is out of business and you have no website.

As explained, it doesn't have to be a long drawn out process to get your Internet business off the ground. Now that you are armed with this information, you can get out there and make some money like so many countless others have done.
