By: Dave Southern

New Zealand is a country of rare seismic beauty: glacial mountains, fast-flowing rivers, crystal clear lakes, boiling mud and abundant native forests, long, deserted beaches and a variety of fauna, such as the kiwi, prevalent to its shores.
And the great advantage of New Zealand is that there are many varied landscapes, environments, and ecosystems in close proximity to each other.
In New Zealand, you can swim with dolphins, gambol with newborn lambs, whale-watch or fish for plump trout in clear streams and rivers or pack your sandals, shorts and sunblock, and always be prepared for spontaneous picnics.
New Zealand’s Maori culture emerged from Polynesian migrations that began around 700 years ago. The culture of its indigenous Māori people affects the language, the arts, and even the accents of all New Zealanders. While heritage sites and cultural experiences can be found throughout the country, the cities have special significance. Tour the New Zealand tourism centers – Taupo and Wanaka and the major cities like Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
New Zealand isn't all caves, glaciers and geysers, though its natural spectacles are epic in scope and you'd be unfortunate not to sample at least some of them.

With more than 15,000 kilometres of coastline, New Zealand knows all the moods of the sea. On the west coast the Tasman Sea, notoriously wild, breaks against jagged cliffs, weather beaten rocks and long, expressive stretches of black sand.
Enshrining a huge variety of landscapes, vegetation and wildlife, the New Zealand parks allow you to discover the heart and soul of a country that will never be totally under control.
