The All Popular Swiss Movado Watches

Movado, a Swiss luxury watch brand, dates back to 1881 and showcases the evolution of watches. The company designs are renowned for their light weight, comfortable curved face cases, rotor-driven automatics and durable scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal faces. The most well-known design is the black face and single diamond at the 12 position, which has been the only watch to win an award for its dial (known as "The Museum" dial).

Today there are over 24 distinct men's, women's and unisex Movado designs to choose from. The signature of this brand style boasts elegance, timeless class and simplicity. Without paying as much as a sports car, wearers can get that classy "Rolex" or "Tag Heuer" look without making huge sacrifices. Typically lingering in the mid-hundreds, it is more reasonably priced than some of its competitors but still shouts out luxury.

Some of the most popular Movado women's jewelry watches include the Museum dialed "Amorosa" made with stainless steel, silver and diamonds or "Kara," which comes in shades of light blue, pink and silver. The "Ono" style (also with the Museum dial) has a unique circular pattern on their bands, whereas the "Vivo" line holds a rectangular shape for both face and band.

For women who desire the traditional 12-marker dials, the "Faceto," "Juro" and "Rilati" all add a little more functionality, without sacrificing the diamonds.

The "Museum" Movado men's watch has won the most awards and allows many customization options. Men can choose between a white or black genuine lizard strap, a tan ostrich strap or steel link bracelet, as well as between gold or silver face accents.

"Juro" is a newer series that resembles the "Museum," but features a smaller face and more subtle diamond inlays. The men's "Esperanza" model is the most complex luxury model with the three minute, second and tenth-of-a-second sub-dials.

The 800 Series is a colorful line of sport watches for men and women made out of durable stainless steel casing and has stick-like markers for the obsessive time keeper or athlete. The Series 800 Chronograph is the ultimate sports watch, with three round sub-dials accurately measuring minutes, seconds and tenths-of-a-second.

With stopwatch functionality and coated in super luminova for enhanced visibility, these dynamic sport watches are used by Super Bowl Quarterback Tom Brady and World Series MVP Derek Jeter.

Movado lovers generally pay anywhere from $500 to thousands of dollars for these sleek, functional watches. Retailers vary state to state but generally include: Kay's, Zales, Littman, Helzberg Diamonds, Macy's and official Movado Boutiques. However, sites like Watchesonnet and Amazon carry them for half price. As with anything, internet shoppers will have to be wary of imitations and check their warranties.
