Some books you may be longing to listen to may not be in a downloadable version yet.

What makes the problem worse is that major audio book download vendors online have struck out licensing and copyright agreements with publishers that supply audio books using Windows format only. This was necessary to discourage unlawful distribution of audio book downloads, like what happened to music downloading services. Therefore, most libraries and online stores offering audio book download services furnish downloads that are compatible only with Windows system. This means, that some audiobook downloads will not play on Macintoshes and iPods without an extra step involved.
