There are simple to use calculators to should be used by the rookie and then there are more advanced calculators that of course should be used by the advanced players. You can normally expect a competitor in this range to be either be playing hole cards with inherent strength, position blind steals and position potential hands like connectors. At this time I had lost nearly 90% of my bankroll and I figured that the calculator wasn't working. You are just not going to get pot odds when you need it, but you can’t wait until becoming so short that 3 other players will find it easy to call you. Any particular player can take on many characteristics during a single tournament (never mind hundreds). I made 41 final tables in three months! To put this in perspective, I made one final table in the two years before that! I even created a spreadsheet that I used by my tournament window that calculated the Mzone with some inputting on my part. When you are new to something it is easy to overrate ones abilities and going for an advanced calculator. It's the quickest way to determine your opponent's style of play and when combined with other indicators the VPIP will generally be an accurate guideline for game planning against a particular opponent. In a couple of weeks I had stopped the money from leaking out of my bankroll and I could concentrate on my aggressive game. But poker is a game that persistently challenges not only your intellect, but your emotions as well.
