Why Be Angry About The Rapid Increase In Oil Prices?

By: GARKO

I managed to find somebody yesterday who is optimistic about the US economy! . He owns a print shop and has a masters degree in economic studies. And what he said did make sense to some degree. He says that the crash of the dollar means that the US can export goods again and be competitive and that this will usher in a new era of revitalized manufacturing in America and ultimately cause a financial boom. I don’t know if this is true. But it was nice to meet at least one sentient person who is also optimistic. And this kind of viewpoint really applies to other things too including the price of gas.
There is a particularly great advantage of the lofty price of oil which should be a cause of celebration amongst the environmental organizations: it is making alternative energy much more attractive, this is so much the case that the rising price may open the door, finally for a major wave of renewable energy projects which could, in turn, lead to a greater share of the market and perhaps the movement of alternative fuel sources into the mainstream. This would be a great thing.
Overall, the high price of energy is having some pretty bad effects -- but if a movement towards saner energy sources results, this silver lining could be an epic and historic shift.
The longer oil prices remain at prices most people consider unacceptable, the more substantial potential consumer reaction. A rise of ten percent in gas prices lowers consumption by just roughly half a percent in the short term, but it lessens demand much more substantially over a longer period of time

As people make major spending decisions, such as where they want to reside and what type of car they want, they are starting to factor the price of gas into the equation. Some are opting for smaller cars or are moving closer to their jobs to cut down on drive time.
The recent concern has delayed or impeded many new subdivisons, high gasoline prices have cut consumption and resulted in less purchasing of, and increasing construction costs are restraining new coal and gas plants.
Meanwhile, economic incentives are generating a frenzy of new clean energy construction.
But the truly fascinating thing is that all that is going on while the real solution to lowering of gas usage and helping the environment through cleaner emissions is RIGHT HERE AT WATER4GAS
