I met someone yesterday who is the most optimistic person about the US economy that I have met in well over a year since all the bubbles started bursting. He was quite a smart fellow who owns a print and copy shop and owns a masters degree in economics. No dummy. And what he said did make sense to some degree. He says that the crash of the dollar means that the US can export goods again and be competitive and that this will usher in a new era of revitalized manufacturing in America and ultimately cause a financial boom. I hope he is right. I am not so sure. But it was at least good to meet someone who has an optimistic viewpoint about the American economy and where it is headed. • As Sensible Fuel Options Creep Along…  By : GARKO
Congress and the bureaucrats in Washington, the presidents of the last thirty years or so and others who are supposed to be responsible have known for a long time that new sources of energy are desperately needed to compensate for the eventual disappearance of existing fuels as well as to slow the buildup of climate-changing "greenhouse gases" in the atmosphere. There are some parts of the world where solar and wind energy generation have advanced much further and faster than here in the USA. A number of other innovative energy solutions have already been developed and even tested out in university and corporate laboratories. But these solutions, which now contribute only a tiny percentage of the world's net fuel supply, are simply moving way too slowly if we hope to avoid a global train wreck in the not too distant future.
